Did you know tallow quality varies a lot? Many are made with lower-grade fat or heavily refined renders that compromise both purity and performance.

Our whipped tallow is sourced from local, organic, grass-fed Swedish mountain cows that are grazing the fields of Sunne, Värmland.

It contains tallow that is made exclusively from suet: the nutrient-dense fat found around the kidneys. It's slowly dry-rendered, which keeps the fat in its purest, most traditional form. Without added water or other additives.

We've just whipped it into a balm that melts on the skin.

Why does it work?

Tallow is one of the closest matches to the natural lipids in human skin. That means it doesn’t sit on top like something foreign, but blends in with your skin’s own structure and helps reinforce the skin barrier.

Suet is naturally rich in fat-soluble vitamins, especially vitamin A, vitamin D, E, and K, along with a balanced profile of essential fatty acids like oleic, palmitic, and stearic acid. These compounds play an important role in keeping the skin barrier strong, resilient, and well-nourished.

When the skin barrier is supported, the skin feels calmer, less dry, and less reactive.

Skintypes

This balm is made for skin that feels dry, tight, or easily irritated.

It works especially well for dry and sensitive skin, rough patches, and areas where the skin barrier feels tight or out of balance.

Because tallow closely resembles the skin’s own natural oils, it’s also well tolerated by many reactive skin types.

Origin

This balm is made in small batches in our apothecary in Sweden, using tallow from local, organic, grass-fed mountain cows. From a supplier we personally know.

Take a small amount and apply directly to clean skin.

Massage gently into areas that feel dry, tight, or in need of barrier support: face, hands, elbows, or anywhere that needs extra care.

A little goes a long way, so start small and add more if needed.

Can be used daily as a moisturiser or as an intensive balm on rough or sensitive areas.

Frequently asked questions

What is whipped tallow balm?

It feels soft and rich, melting the moment it touches the skin. Leaving a healthy glow and the smell of blooming lavender.

Why do so many people with skin issues choose Whipped Tallow Balm?

Because it’s simple, minimal, and made from ingredients the skin already understands.

Many people with dry, sensitive, or reactive skin find that modern skincare can feel too complex or too harsh. Whipped Tallow Balm keeps it stripped back: no water, no fillers, no unnecessary additives, just one nourishing fat that support the skin barrier instead of stressing it.

Tallow is very similar to the skin’s own natural oils, which is why it’s often well tolerated even by sensitive skin types.

Why do you use suet instead of regular fat?

Suet is the highest quality fat on the animal. Found around the kidneys. It is more stable, nutrient-dense, and traditionally preferred for rendering into skincare. This gives a cleaner, more refined tallow compared to mixed or lower-grade fats.

What does the balm smell like?

The balm has a very mild, natural scent from the tallow itself, softened with a subtle hint of lavender essential oil. It is not perfumed or strongly scented. But is has a pleasant smell.

Can children use it?

Yes! It’s great for children as the butter is made with gentle, natural ingredients. However, it contains lavender essential oil, which is a gentle, yet concentrated plant extract. Therefore, we recommend not using this butter on children under 1 year. But for other ages, this is a great remedy. Don't forget to always do a patch-test first.
